Finca el Cedral
Finca el Cedral
Alfredo Monge, a seasoned coffee producer, embarked on cultivating coffee at Finca El Cedral in Tarbaca, Aserrí, Costa Rica in 2015. With a coffee history dating back to the 1970s, Alfredo prioritizes excellence, implementing practices like natural fungicide application. The coffee undergoes processing at the renowned Roble Negro micromill in Tarrazú, founded in November 2019, known for its commitment to quality and sustainability. Equipped with advanced infrastructure, the mill focuses on resource efficiency, waste repurposing, and recycling. This Washed Catuai lot, part of Alfredo's pursuit of quality, involves meticulous processing stages, from pulping to fermentation and careful drying, highlighting the region's rich terroir. Tarrazú, characterized by high altitudes and a distinct wet and dry season, boasts fertile volcanic soils, making it a prime region for coffee cultivation. The close-knit community in Tarrazú emphasizes sustainable farming practices and cherishes their land deeply. We enjoy this coffee as an ideal everyday sipper to brew in your drip brewer at home to enjoy the full sweetness, complexity, and subtle fruit flavors of this dynamic cup.
